Akshar Van · अक्षर वन

Privacy Policy

Effective 16 September 2026

In short

Akshar Van does not collect, share or sell any personal information, not yours and not your child's. The app works fully offline, with no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.

Who we are

Akshar Van is a Hindi alphabet app for toddlers and the grown-ups who play alongside them. It is published by Vimarsh Apps. This policy covers the Akshar Van app on Android and iOS, and this website.

What stays on your device

The app remembers four things so it can pick up where you left off. They are saved only in the app's private storage on your phone or tablet. They are never sent to us, and we have no way to see them.

Sound
Whether sound is muted.
Voice
Whether the female or male voice reads the letters.
Reduced motion
Whether calmer, still transitions are turned on.
Letters explored
Which letters have been opened, shown as a count in the parent area.

Like other app settings, these may be included in your own device backup if backups are turned on in your Google or Apple account.

To clear the explored letters, open the parent area with the Grown-ups button and tap Reset local exploration. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it saved.

What the app doesn't do

  • It doesn't connect to the internet or send anything off your device.
  • It doesn't use the microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos.
  • It contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools, and doesn't access advertising identifiers.
  • There are no accounts, sign-ins, chat or social features.
  • It doesn't link out to websites or other apps.

Children's privacy

Akshar Van is made for children aged about 18 to 36 months, playing with a grown-up. Children are never asked for information, and nothing they tap, say or do is recorded. Settings for grown-ups sit behind a simple parent gate.

Children's privacy laws, including COPPA in the United States, the GDPR in the EU and UK, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, centre on consent before a child's personal data is collected. Akshar Van collects none.

Voice recordings

The Hindi pronunciations are AI-generated recordings bundled inside the app. They play from your device, and no text or audio is sent to any server.

Google Play and the App Store

When you download Akshar Van, Google or Apple may process information under their own privacy policies. They share only aggregated statistics with us, such as how many people installed the app, and, if you have agreed to share diagnostics with them, anonymous crash reports. None of this tells us who you or your child are.

See the Google Privacy Policy and the Apple Privacy Policy.
